  2. Make ready 1 1/2 cup marinara sauce

Instructions to make Homemade Calzones:

  2. Cut the dough into 2x2 squares

  5. Brush the tops of each calzone with some egg wash
  6. Put in your air fryer at 380 for 8 minutes or in the oven at 350 until golden brown and cooked through
  7. Serve with marinara sauce

Homemade calzones reheat beautifully for lunch the next day! If you would like to make a big batch of calzones to freeze for later, simply bake them as normal, allow them to cool, wrap tightly in plastic. Dough folded around sauce and fillings makes a wonderful baked calzone. A homemade calzone is surprisingly easy to make! They require a bit more energy than pizza due to the folding and crimping, but you really don't need a lot of specialized skills to make one of these bad.
