Simple Way to Prepare Gordon Ramsay Japchae

Hey everyone, it is Jim, welcome to our recipe page. Today, we’re going to prepare a special dish, japchae. One of my favorites food recipes. This time, I am going to make it a bit tasty. This will be really delicious.

Japchae is one of the most well liked of current trending foods on earth. It’s appreciated by millions daily. It is easy, it’s quick, it tastes delicious. They’re fine and they look wonderful. Japchae is something that I’ve loved my entire life.

To begin with this particular recipe, we must first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook japchae using 12 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Japchae:
  1. Get baby spinach leaves
  2. Take soy sauce
  3. Prepare caster sugar
  4. Take sesame oil, plus extra, to drizzle
  5. Make ready garlic clove, crushed
  6. Get egg, lightly beaten
  7. Make ready sweet potato vermicelli (dangmyeon) (see Note) or mung bean vermicelli
  8. Prepare (about 4) fresh shiitake mushrooms, thinly sliced
  9. Prepare white onion, thinly sliced
  10. Make ready zucchini, thinly sliced into matchsticks
  11. Take garlic chives (see Note), cut into 5 cm lengths
  12. Make ready sesame seeds and kimchi (optional), to serve
Steps to make Japchae:
  1. Blanch spinach in boiling salted water for 20 seconds or until bright green. Plunge into iced water then drain well. Set aside.
  2. Combine soy sauce, sugar, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and garlic in a bowl and set aside. Heat 2 teaspoons of sesame oil in a wok over high heat. Season egg with salt and pepper and pour into wok, swirling to make a thin layer. Cook for 30 seconds or until set. Cool slightly, roll up and then slice.
  3. Cook noodles in boiling salted water for 5 minutes or until tender. Drain well, drizzle with a little sesame oil and toss to combine.
  4. Meanwhile, heat remaining 1½ tablespoons of sesame oil in a large wok or frying pan until hot. Add mushroom and onion, and cook for 2 minutes or until tender. Add zucchini and cook for 1 minute or until just tender. Add noodles, soy sauce mixture, spinach and garlic chives, toss to combine and cook until warmed through. Serve scattered with sesame seeds and topped with egg and kimchi, if desired.
  5. NOTES - - Sweet potato vermicelli (dangmyeon) is available from Asian food shops. - Garlic chives are available from Asian grocers, substitute regular chives.
