Spanakorizo is such a simple dish as many Greek ones are, but yet delicious and easy to make. Oh, and did I mention its nutritional value?

Spanakorizo is one of the most popular of current trending meals on earth. It is simple, it is quick, it tastes delicious. It is appreciated by millions every day. They are fine and they look wonderful. Spanakorizo is something that I’ve loved my whole life.

To get started with this particular recipe, we must prepare a few components. You can cook spanakorizo using 12 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Spanakorizo:
  1. Get 1 cup basmati rice
  2. Take 100 gm spinach
  3. Get 1 onion chopped
  4. Get 1 tbsp garlic chopped
  5. Get 1 tbsp garlic chives chopped
  6. Make ready 2 tbsp oil
  7. Prepare 1 tbsp butter
  8. Get 1 tbsp lemon juice
  9. Take 1 tsp lemon zest
  10. Take 1 tsp salt
  11. Make ready 1/4 tsp pepper
  12. Take 25 gm feta cheese

This can make spanakorizo a terrific one-pot meal. Alternatively, spanakorizo can be eaten as a side dish combining vegetables and starch, along with a fish or meat dish. Spanakorizo. (Greek Spinach and Rice, Spanakóryzo, Σπανακόρυζο). In its simplest form, spanakorizo consists of rice and spinach that are slowly simmered until creamy and well combined.

Steps to make Spanakorizo:
  1. Wash and drain the rice. Wash and drain the spinach leaves well.
  2. Heat oil and butter in a pot. Add chopped garlic and then chopped onions to it… fry till pink and then add chives saute and then add spinach. Mix and then add rice to it… mix well and add salt and pepper and 2 cups water to it… cook for 15 -20 mins till the rice is done.
  3. Then add lemon juice and lemon zest and some more chives and mix.
  4. Serve on a plate and garnish with some grated feta cheese and some more chives. Serve hot or cold.
