Coconut rice is a simple, flavorful dish that goes great with curries, stir-fries, chicken, or beef. In fact, pretty much any protein or vegetable can be paired with this coconut-flavored rice. Coconut rice is a dish prepared by soaking white rice in coconut milk or cooking it with coconut flakes. As both the coconut and the rice-plant are commonly found in the tropics all-around the world, coconut rice too is found in many cultures throughout the world.

Coconut Rice is one of the most favored of recent trending foods on earth. It is simple, it is fast, it tastes yummy. It is appreciated by millions daily. Coconut Rice is something that I’ve loved my whole life. They’re nice and they look wonderful.

To get started with this particular recipe, we must first prepare a few components. You can cook coconut rice using 10 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

The ingredients needed to make Coconut Rice:
  1. Get 1 cup Basmati Rice
  2. Prepare 1 cup grated Coconut
  3. Take 1.5 cup chopped Jaggery
  4. Take 1/4 tsp Salt
  5. Prepare 2 tbsp Ghee
  6. Get 4-5 Cloves
  7. Make ready 2-3 Black Cardamom (Badi/Masala Elaichi)
  8. Prepare 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
  9. Take 1/4 cup Cashew Nuts
  10. Prepare Almond slices for garnishing

Place in a saucepan with water, coconut milk, and salt. Place the pot over high heat and, bring the liquid to a boil. Coconut Rice - soon to be one of your go-to side dishes! It pairs perfectly with a tropical meal, a Thai main dish, or seafood.

Instructions to make Coconut Rice:
  1. Wash the Rice, remove all water and keep it aside. Soak it for 15-20 minutes. In a large vessel keep the water for boiling. Add Salt and washed & soaked Rice in it and cook it. When the Rice is cooked, remove the excess water with the help of a strainer. Keep the cooked Rice in a plate and let it cool down. - *Rice should be cooked well and all rice grains should be separated. Do not overcook Rice. - *For preparing Coconut Rice, I always use whole Basmati rice.
  2. Now heat pure Ghee in a wok or non-stick pan. Add Black Cardamom (Badi elaichi) and Cloves. Now add grated Coconut and Jaggery in it. Mix it well until Jaggery gets dissolved completely. Add Cashew nuts and Cardamom powder in it. - *You can use Jaggery as per your taste.
  3. Once the mixture gets boiled, add cooked Rice in it and mix it well. Cover it with a lid on medium heat for 2-3 minutes and remove the lid and stir it well. Add some Ghee in it. Again cover it with lid for 2-3 minute. When mixture gets dry, transfer the cooked Coconut Rice in a serving bowl.
  4. Garnish the delicious Sweet Coconut Rice with Almond slices before serving.
